A look at a auto rigging tool created for bipedal characters in Maya. Locators are placed and used to determine the position of rigging components which are built using python. The tool allows for the following features to be built into the rig:
  • IK & FK arms & Legs
  • Flexiplane arms & legs
  • Stretchy arms & legs
  • Elbow & Knee preserves
  • Foot role
  • Foot banking
  • Toe bend
  • Palm bend
  • Finger & thumb controls
  • Flexiplane spine
  • Stretchy spine
  • Flexiplane neck
  • Stretchy neck
